Protect your cassette from contaminating patients by using disposable, impervious plastic covers.
It is crucial to use disposable plastic covers, not only to protect your cassette from damage, but to protect your patients, as well. Cassettes frequently come into contact with patients’ skin, and can become home to a variety of pathogens, blood, and other fluids. Once your cassette is exposed, it is in danger of contaminating the next patient it touches. While cleaning your cassette with alcohol reduces the amount of pathogens, it does not wipe them completely. The only way to ensure the protection of your cassette and your patients is by using disposable covers that are impervious to fluids.
